Friday The 13th: Myth No More

Updated: Mar 8, 2021

I am not the kind of person that believes in myths and I have certainly never been superstitious…until today. Talk about bad luck!

We are spending our last three nights in Israel in Beit Shemesh. At 5:30 this morning, I woke up to the sound of pouring rain. I was confused–it’s not supposed to rain in Israel in the summer. Then I realized it was raining inside! Water was cascading everywhere. I woke up Gavin and we discovered that a pipe in the toilet in the attic had burst and water was gushing down the stairs. After we switched off the water, five adults had the mammoth task of cleaning up. Just as we were finishing, I slipped on the floor.

I am now typing this from the Emergency Room while the doctors are casting me for a broken ankle.

Who said Friday the 13th is just a myth?

Do you have any Friday the 13th stories to share? Whether you believe in the doomed day or not, let us hear your thoughts.
